Needle Felting
In this one day workshop with fibre artist Pearl Fifield you will discover the satisfying technique of Needle Felting. Unlike knitting and sewing needles, a felting needle has tiny barbs that run down it’s sides. Using this needle you are able to felt dry wool-fibers together. In this workshop you will experiment with a variety of materials, working in two dimension on a piece of recycled wool fabric.

Oil Painting Introduction
Join artist Tara Bryan for this introduction to oil painting. Learn by doing as you complete several small paintings (still life, landscape, and/or subject of choice). Instruction includes paint mixing and application, basic colour theory and composition. No previous experience is required.

Holiday Card Making (12+ years)
Have fun creating original one of a kind art cards for the holidays. Instruction will include printmaking and collage techniques as well as tips on composition and design elements from expert Anita Singh.

An Inrtoduction to Machine Sewing
This short course is an ideal choice for anyone who wants to get started machine sewing. Julia Cook will cover machine setup, parts and accessories; cutting patterns, sewing straight and curved seams, finishing techniques and more. You will learn basic skills as you gain hands-on experience, follow a simple pattern, and complete your choice of projects. No experience required. Bring your own machine or request to use one of ours.

Silk Painting
A wonderful opportunity to learn silk painting from visual artist and silk painting expert Diana Dabinett! Learn the techniques and procedures to draw with resist, mix and blend colours, and achieve a variety of effects. Experiment the techniques on a silk sampler, then design and paint a silk scarf or wall hanging. This class is suitable for all levels of experience, including beginners and a great choice for those who have enjoyed our two hour workshop.

Embroidery Study - Level One
This five level thorough examination of embroidery and needlework includes; technical skills, design theory, and the historical context of each given style of needlework. Each level includes projects and a final examination. We are currently taking names for level one, If there is enough interest we will offer the course in the Winter term. Please call to indicate your interest.
$178 per level includes HST and 10 weeks of instruction.
